Gold Mentor

GOLD Mentor Program is an example of a partnership resource have established between the Eastern Area Workforce Development Board and the New Mexico Aging and Long-term Care Department. At present we have mentors in Clovis, Roswell, and Hobbs whose assistance is available to all TANF clients.

These GOLD (Golden Opportunities for Lifelong Development) mentors are retired individuals who give back to our participants the benefits of their skills and life experiences. Some of our mentors provide participants with additional tutoring services necessary for them to work on GED completion, teaching them workplace skills, proper work attire and attitude, as well as providing someone they can talk to about issues and concerns troubling them.
